Meet Rosie
CLINICAL DIRECTOR
CERTIFIED IN 2010
work days: MONDAY - THURSDAY
Rosie holds a research background, having completed her PhD at the University of Sydney in 2016. Following this, she pursued a post-doctoral research position at the same university, focusing on the development of NHMRC-approved guidelines for managing communication and swallowing in children with brain tumors or leukemia.
In addition to her research, her clinical interests emphasise early intervention for children under three years old. She is deeply involved in speech pathology research and has co-authored eight peer-reviewed publications, with five as the first author. Additionally, she has presented at national and international conferences and has been an invited speaker for Speech Pathology Australia workshops and online modules.
Moreover, Rosie is a strong advocate for collecting evidence within practice settings. In 2022, she initiated a practice-based evidence community of practice for speech pathologists across Australia. She hopes to continue collaborating with professionals in her field to unlock evidence within clinical practice settings.
Since becoming a mum in 2016, Rosie has strived to find a new work-life balance. This experience has also given her a fresh perspective on working with young children and engaging families in the therapy process. As a dedicated speech pathologist, she continues to make significant contributions to the field of speech therapy.
I became a speech pathologist because I wanted to combine my passion for English with helping people, particularly children.
I love working with families and children. I love that I get to be both creative and scientific. I love the constant challenges that speech pathology brings.
