Meet Amelia
therapy assistant |

Amelia joined Word Stars in mid-2024 as a therapy assistant. She is currently studying a Masters of Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Sydney. Outside of work, she enjoys being a ‘plant mum’ and watching her plants grow, going to the beach, and spending time with her partner and friends exploring Sydney.

I am excited to be a part of the Word Stars team and assist clients in achieving their communication goals. She is keen to engage in evidence-based and family-centred therapy in a way that holistically supports clients and their families.helping them achieve goals that they never thought they could achieve. I think being able to communicate clearly is so important for many people, and it’s important that we are all able to express ourselves in the ways that we want and receive the help that we need. When we are struggling, it’s normal to feel down, frustrated or even helpless, so having someone there to give support during these times is valuable and comforting indeed.

My all-time favourite children’s book is the “Magic Tree House” series by Mary Pope Osborne. I love how Jack and Annie’s adventures transported me to different places and times, teaching valuable lessons in science, history, culture and geography. As a young kid, it was thrilling to learn about these topics through their time-travelling adventures. I still remember the excitement of waiting to borrow each new book from the library!
