Dr. Rosemary Hodges

Rosie has a research background, completing her PhD at the University of Sydney in 2016. She completed a post-doctoral research position at the University of Sydney focused on the development of NHMRC approved guidelines for the management of communication and swallowing in children with brain tumour or leukaemia.

Rosie’s research and clinical interests focus on early intervention for children under 3 years old. She has co-authored eight peer-reviewed publications, five of these as first author. She has presented at national and international conferences and has been an invited speaker for Speech Pathology Australia workshops and online modules.

Rosie is a strong advocate for collecting evidence within our practice settings and initiated a practice-based evidence community of practice for speech pathologists across Australia in 2022. She is hoping to continue to work collaboratively with those in her profession to unlock evidence within clinical practice settings.

Since becoming a mum in 2016, Rosie has had to find a new work-life balance. It has also given her a new perspective on working with young children and engaging families in the therapy process.
