Dear Parents and Guardians,

Thank you for your patience and support as we navigate the recent changes surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to the rapidly changing news, our business will need to make some changes to how we are delivering services. Most significantly, all of our services will be delivered via Telehealth for the time being.

If you are already accessing Telehealth, there will not be any changes. We understand that in many cases, you or your child will need support to transition to this method. There may also be some circumstances where Telehealth will not be suitable. Your therapist will contact you before your next appointment to discuss a plan. They may call from a private number. Please be patient with us as we have many families to speak with!

We have attached a document to guide you in setting up a routine at home for Telehealth. If your child is younger than school-age, has difficulty remaining on task, or has not used Telehealth before, please read this document and watch the linked videos.

Fortunately, we have the programs in place to run group therapy online, and have already successfully completed online groups. If you are enrolled in a group this term, the lead clinician of this group will contact you to discuss changes.

If you would like regular updates on these changes, please follow our social media:

Thank you again for your ongoing cooperation!

Setting Up a Routine Instructions

Set up a table: Please watch this YouTube video I created to make sure that your workspace is appropriate for your child.

Remember there needs to be:
– A place for your child to sit and rest his feet
– No distractions
You may wish to consult an OT to help you with a set up that will allow your child to sit and concentrate.
Set up the visual timetable like in this video:

Here are the activities you can do with your child.

It is important that you do it everyday at exactly the same time

Day 1-3: Set up Visual Timetable with only 1 Activity

Activity 1: Read short book (5-6 pages) Ask your child to point to a picture in each page.)

When the book is done, move the number 1 to the finish line.

Day 4 onward: Set up Visual Timetable with 2 Activities

Activity 1: Read short book (5-6 pages) Ask your child to point to a picture in each page.)

When the book is done, move the number 1 to the finish line.

Activity 2: Colour Pictures – You can find some colouring pages to print here.

When your child is finished colouring you can move the number 2 to the finish line.
